Paul Zegler as the comic and Andrew Rothenberg as the killer turn in very fine performances in this late-nite show that accompanies the mainstage Mary-Arrchie production of Petrified Forest.
The Killer And The Comic isn't as fine-tuned; it opens with a long, rambling monologue for the killer to explain the situation -- an unlikely scenario, since he's in an empty room talking to no one (although who knows the minds of serial killers?). We all know what's up when the comic makes an energized entrance, looking for a telephone to use, and the killer takes him in -- literally. The only real surprise comes at the end, which we expect to follow the same predictably gruesome pattern.
